East Quay is a new arts and culture venue, which opened in the summer of 2021.
It is home to two contemporary art galleries, 11 artist studios, a paper mill, a geology workshop, print studio, restaurant, shop and 5 unique places to stay, all on the quayside here in Watchet.
You are welcome to explore the galleries, which have exhibitions from local, national and international artists all year around, visit our restaurant East Quay Kitchen, which is open in the summer months 7 days a week with breakfast lunch and dinner.
You may also stay in one of our accommodation pods, which all have exceptional views out to sea or to the surrounding countryside!
East Quay also has events all year round, including theatre, music, creative workshops for adults and kids and more - be sure to visit the website or pick up a programme from reception to find out what’s on.
East Quay is run by Onion Collective CIC, a Watchet-grown, female-led, not-for-profit, social enterprise. East Quay illustrates that when people have the space and time to imagine collectively, the results can be fantastically creative, welcoming, ambitious and fun and can lead the way to a better future.
The galleries at East Quay are run by a charity, Contains Art CIO (charity number 1193931), which is founded on the belief that who you are, where you live and what you have, should not constrain access to creativity and culture. All donations to the Gallery and Contains Art are reinvested in art, culture and arts education.
